Dominican Singer Juan Luis Guerra said today that he is negotiating a duet with the Colombian singer Juanes and announced that starting in March he will arrive in South America with “La Travesía Tour”. The performer of “Ojalá Que Llueva Café” stated that he has already spoken with Juanes and he may also record a single with the Dominican band Aventura. Guerra, the most international of the Dominican artists, made these statements during a busy press conference in which he provided details about the concert to be held on February 14th in Santo Domingo, during his tour. The artist said he likes to innovate, that many new things can be done with music, and that the best is “yet to come.” The performer reiterated that he has no interest in entering politics and that with the foundation that carries his name he has “more than enough.” However, he said he respects artists who enter the political world, among them the Panamanian singer Ruben Blades, who according to the Dominican is doing a “good” job as the head of the Ministry of Tourism of his country. Despite the fact that he stays away from politics, Guerra asked the local authorities to focus on the areas of health and education in the country, and said that he is worried about justice. The award-winning singer also mentioned the economic crisis, particularly the local situation, but assured that his country will “get over” the situation. Regarding the upcoming February 14 concert, Juan Luis Guerra promised that it will be “very special,” like those he performed in the United States and Europe. In the concert he will sing the most popular singles he recorded with his inseparable band 440, and will include about seven from his most recent production “La Llave de mi Corazón.” The artist said that “La Travesía Tour,” an artistic production based on “La Llave de mi Corazón,” is a show in which people “feel very good, where they cry tears of happiness and where they have a good time.” In March the artist will continue “La Travesía Tour” in Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, and Paraguay, among other countries. Juan Luis Guerra has sold over 20 million albums in his artistic career and was awarded many prizes, including two Grammy Awards. Last year the performer was named Artist for Peace by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
