Texas Guard, Chilean Armed Forces Enhance Cooperation and Coordination to Promote Regional Security

The Texas Military Department hosted a Key Leadership Engagement to enhance shared understanding of border capabilities and security strategies as part of the National Guard Bureau (NGB) State Partnership Program (SPP). Lt. Gen. Pino’s recent visit on August 28, 2024, underscores the core mission of the SPP. During this visit, Maj. Gen. Suelzer and Lt. Gen. Pino discussed border operations, boat and riverine tactics, deterrence operations, and tech integration, among other topics, focusing on enhancing interoperability by identifying shared challenges and implementing joint solutions. Established in 2008, the Texas National Guard collaboration with Chile has included a wide range of engagements, from maneuver operations to aviation and cyber subject matter expert exchanges. The Texas National Guard and the Chilean Armed Forces are committed to working together to ensure global security and detect and deter common adversaries, all while continuing to strengthen long-lasting ties of friendship.
