Continuing Promise 2018 (CP-18) -Guatemala

(Photo: U.S. Navy Mass Communication Specialist First Class Mike DiMestico)The humanitarian campaign Continuing Promise 2018 (CP-18) stopped in Puerto Barrios, Guatemala, on the second leg of its mission aboard the USNS Spearhead, April 9th-18th. Sponsored by U.S. Naval Forces Southern Command/U.S. 4th Fleet, the mission provided free medical care and humanitarian assistance to Guatemalans with support from the Guatemalan government, Guatemalan Army, and local organizations. More than 6,700 people received checkups and/or specialized services in pediatrics, optometry, gynecology, and odontology, among others.
