In eight operations in areas bordering Paraguay and Brazil, the Argentine Gendarmerie and the Naval Prefecture seized 14,043 kilograms of marijuana between January 25 and February 18, 2022.
On February 18, the Gendarmerie reported that its units had dismantled a drug storage center and seized 5,176 kg of marijuana in a farm located in the municipality of Colonia Delicia, Misiones province.
That same day, in the municipality of Puerto Avellaneda, also in Misiones province, the Gendarmerie seized 1,002 kg of marijuana that the driver of a truck with a semi-trailer had abandoned on National Route 12.

On February 13, the Prefecture reported the seizure of 110 kg of marijuana in Eldorado municipality, Misiones province. Authorities seized the drug in the Paraná River as a Paraguayan man attempted to bring it into Argentine territory.
On February 5, the Gendarmerie confirmed the seizure of 2,445 kg of marijuana during an operation in the municipality of Montecarlo, Misiones province. Authorities found the drug hidden in the vegetation.
On February 3, on the river border of the city of Corrientes, the Prefecture seized 350 kg of marijuana from a boat coming from Paraguay.
On February 2, the Prefecture confirmed the seizure of 400 kg of marijuana hidden on the banks of the Paraná River, in Paso de la Patria municipality, Corrientes province.
That same day, the Gendarmerie reported the seizure of 3,347 kg of marijuana in the municipality of Eldorado, Misiones province. The drug was found in a shipment of wood.
Finally, on January 25, the gendarmes reported the seizure of 1,113 kg of marijuana in Mojón de Fierro municipality, Formosa province. The drug was hidden among the vegetation and was detected by workers using heavy machinery in the area.
