The Nicaraguan Army received new English and computer laboratories from the U.S. defense attaché, Colonel Edward M. Bonfoey, the Nicaraguan Army’s Public and Foreign Relations Directorate announced in late February.

The laboratories will operate at “Héroe Nacional Sargento Primero Andrés Castro” National Sergeants’ School, with the objective of enriching the learning experience of Nicaraguan Army officers.

Col. Bonfoey stressed that it is an honor to cooperate with the Nicaraguan Army by facilitating equipment that makes it possible to maintain the peace-keeping program.

For his part, the head of the Central American country’s Joint General Staff, Major General Oscar Balladares Cardoza, who presided over the ceremony, expressed his thanks for the delivery of the laboratories, which will serve to support learning English for international communication, from which Nicaraguan Army officers will benefit.

Brigadier generals, senior officers, members of the Military Council, and U.S. Military Group officials were among those present at the ceremony.
