The conference brought together 29 military leaders representing the nations of the Pacific. Colombia participated in the event for the first time, after accepting the invitation of the Armed Forces of the Philippines and the U.S. Pacific Command. The conference sought to strengthen cooperative military and multilateral ties among the 29 nations in attendance. Among the countries in attendance were the United States, Canada, Chile, Perú, China, France, England, Australia, Japan, India, South Korea, and New Zealand – among others. During the meeting, the participants discussed topics such as treaties and the fight against international crime, the exchange of information, and interoperability. Gen. Rodríguez Barragán was invited to the forum in order to share Colombia's experience in the fight against terrorism, drug trafficking, and other criminal phenomena that most affect the world. The event takes place annually and offers a unique forum in which to discuss regional challenges and points of view. We are in Colombians' hearts, and there we shall remain!
