Colombia will sell Brazil four river patrol boats for $8.3 million, the
Colombian Ministry of Defense said on December 27.

Ministry reported in a press release.
The report said that the signed contract was “the result” of a meeting
between Brazilian Minister of Defense Celso Amorim and his counterpart from
Colombia, Juan Carlos Pinzón, last May.
The four patrol boats will deploy security assets throughout Brazil’s vast
Amazon region, and they will be built by Colombian shipyard Cotecmar, stated the
Colombia and Brazil share a jungle border of about 1,020 miles.
