Continuing Promise 2022 marks the 12th humanitarian and civic assistance mission to the U.S. Southern Command area of operations since 2007 and the seventh mission involving the U.S. Navy hospital ship USNS Comfort (T-AH 20). The 2022 mission begins with a first stop in Guatemala, Honduras, Colombia, Dominican Republic, and ends in Haiti. The medical teams will focus on working alongside partner nations’ medical personnel to provide care on board and at land-based medical sites to increase medical readiness, strengthen partnerships, and enhance the combined capabilities of the U.S. Navy and partner nations to respond to public health disasters and humanitarian crises. The mission also provides direct medical care and expeditionary veterinary care, training, and subject matter expert exchanges on various medical and humanitarian assistance/disaster relief topics, as well as seminars on Women, Peace, and Security.
