The trade in drugs, weapons and other forms of illicit trafficking is a direct threat to national security and undermines the stability of all countries in the Western Hemisphere. The networks established by illicit traffickers transcend national boundaries. Since no single country can fully tackle these problems alone, these threats require cooperation between partner nations. U.S. Southern Command is fully committed to working with partner nations to combat these threats to prosperity in the region.
