The text provides for a better exchange of information and the harmonization of technological and investigatory approaches to combating “transnational organized crime, preventing drug abuse, and rehabilitating drug addicts,” according to the official statement.
On 29 June, the presidents of Brazil, Dilma Rousseff, and Paraguay, Fernando Lugo, met on the sidelines of the summit, their first meeting since the Brazilian president took office in January.
