a tour of the northern city of San Pedro Sula,
Honduras, marking the birth of the Central
American independence hero, Francisco Morazán.
Morazán was president of the United Provinces
of Central America from 1830 to 1840 and was
considered a military and political hero.
He was born in Honduras on October 3,
1792, and was executed by a firing squad in San
José, Costa Rica, on September 15, 1842, after
he led forces in a failed attempt to restore the
federation.
