PANAMA CITY, Panama – Panamanian officials said they’ve found more explosives aboard the North Korea-flagged ship it seized on July 15 for transporting undeclared weapons from Cuba.
Authorities discovered a type of rocket-propelled grenade that could destroy a tank when they opened a box on the Chong Chon Gang. The other boxes remained unopened because officials were concerned about what they contained, according to Javier Caraballo, the country’s counter-narcotics prosecutor.
Ammunition for grenade launchers and other munitions already had been seized during a prior search.
