PANAMA CITY, Panama – Two suspects were arrested in connection with the seizure of more than 1,000 pounds of cocaine, a bale of marijuana and numerous guns during a raid on Nov. 23 in the Darién jungle, border patrol agents said.
The raids, which occurred in the three communities, led to the confiscation of 542 bricks of cocaine, an AK-47 assault rifle, two shotguns, three rifles and two radios.
The seizure continued what has been a very successful year for the Central American nation’s border patrol, which has confiscated 3,176 kilograms (7,001.9 pounds) of cocaine this year.
