SAN JOSÉ, Cost Rica – Drug Control Police officers seized 100 kilograms of cocaine found stashed in a container that arrived at the port of Moín from Colombia.
The cocaine was divided among 100 packets and concealed in secret compartments in the container’s walls.
Officers searched the container because it arrived empty on a cargo ship, according to Costa Rica’s Public Security Ministry.
The cocaine is scheduled to be destroyed.
It’s the second major bust in Costa Rica in the past two weeks, as the Coast Guard and police teamed to seize about 500 kilograms of cocaine, guns and bullets hidden in a container.
