Colombian Army troops, in coordination with the Police and the Office of the Attorney General, captured alias Soldado, an alleged leader of hitmen for the criminal group Clan del Golfo’s Central Turbo subgroup. The arrest took place in Urabá, Antioquia.
Alias Soldado, 38, had a criminal record of more than seven years. This criminal was under house arrest for aggravated conspiracy to commit a crime, yet continued to commit crimes in the Turbo municipality, allegedly ordering murders and criminal actions against the public force.
With this outcome, the Clan del Golfo’s criminal activities in Urabá, Antioquia, continue to weaken, especially in the Turbo municipality.
Operations persist in the region to fight against instability factors that threaten the security and well-being of the populations of Urabá in Antioquia, Córdoba, and Chocó.
