A hitman wanted in Spain has been arrested in Colombia, the National Police said. Leonardo Garcia Davalos, who worked for a drug gang in Madrid, was captured in Rozo, a city in the southwestern province of Valle del Cauca, National Police chief Gen. Oscar Naranjo said. Garcia Davalos allegedly collected payments in the Spanish capital for brothers Luis Enrique and Antonio Calle Serna, who are known as the "Combas." The brothers took over the organization led by Wilber Varela, who was killed in Venezuela in January 2008. Garcia Davalos, according to investigators, is a former police officer and member of the defunct AUC militia federation. The suspect allegedly collected debts owed to the Calle Sernas via kidnappings and extortion. "He was the one responsible for a sort of collection office in Madrid for the Norte del Valle cartel and was known because he killed his victims with sulphuric acid," Naranjo said. Garcia Davalos is the subject of an extradition request from Spanish authorities.
