Guatemala and US Inaugurate $2.3M School Infrastructure Projects

The projects — the Garita Chapina school in Moyuta, Paso de Caballos School in Casillas, and Monte Grande School in Rio Hondo — represent a combined investment of over $2.3 million.

The initiative also saw significant collaboration with the Taiwanese Embassy, which provided critical donations for the schools. This trilateral cooperation between the U.S., Guatemala, and Taiwan, underscores a commitment to transparent, results-driven partnerships between allies.

The project also highlights the positive contributions of USACE beyond its traditional work on railroads, roads, and ports.

Executed via the Humanitarian Assistance Program (HAP) with technical oversight from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), the schools will provide modern learning environments for more than 275 students aged 5 to 11.
