Paraguay: Principal hid huge drug cargo in school bathroom

ASUNCIÓN, Paraguay — Anti-narcotic police units in Paraguay seized 693 kilograms (1,528 pounds) of pressed marijuana June 6 hidden in a bathroom of a public school in the town of Caaguazú, 179 kilometers (111 miles) west of Asunción.

Authorities believe the drugs were ready to be shipped outside the country, as they were found packed in several parcels marked with codes and identification numbers.

Police apprehended school principal Alcaldio Ramírez González, who tried to flee when authorities arrived, on drug trafficking charges.
